Presqu’ile (‘press-keel’) is a family-owned winery in the Santa Maria Valley dedicated to crafting exceptional, cool-climate and high altitude Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah from Santa Barbara County. Presqu'ile's holdings in addition to their estate vineyard include the famed Bien Nacido, Steiner Creek, and the Stanford and Benedict vineyards. 

In 2007, after an extensive search that spanned the West Coast of the United States, the Murphy family acquired an ideal unplanted 200-acre property in the hills of the Santa Maria Valley. Over the next two years, the Murphys, along with Santa Barbara County Vineyard Manager Jim Stollberg and Winemaker Dieter Cronje, meticulously planned the design of the Presqu’ile Vineyard with an emphasis on diversity. To achieve their vision, they mapped the site's deep sandy soils, distinct airflows, patterns of sunlight, hillside angles and elevations. Collectively, the result is a winemaker's dream, offering a treasure trove of individual blocks and sections, allowing Dieter to craft complex and layered small-lot wines.

Domaine Bosquet des Papes - Bosquet des Boiron,

When looking for incredible value in wine, I tend to lean towards trying the second label or more broad designation wines from iconic producers and great vintages, and that’s exactly what we have here. Bosquet des Papes is a family owned low production winery known for their exceptional Chateauneuf du Pape. You can almost guarantee the same quality winemaking goes into the bottle as the famed vineyards or villages, but they're usually made with younger vines, or juice that barely missed the cut for their prestige cuvee, yet more approachable in it's youth. Their 'Cotes du Rhone' is made from just 3.5 hectares of vines with an average age of 50 years, planted just minutes from the famed Chateauneuf du Pape region, and the quality is comparable.
