Albert Boxler - Riesling Brand 2015 (750ml)

Vivid straw-green. Bright, fresh and lemony, featuring aromatic herb, ripe orchard fruit and lime aromas and flavors that are velvety and fleshy at the same time. At once juicy and round, this lovely wine finishes delicate and long. In 2015 Boxler made only one Brand Riesling (he made no Kirchberg in 2015, and so this wine is made with the grapes of the Kirchberg, Kirchthal and Steinglitz lieux-dits). The Kirchberg is always the last part of the Brand to be harvested by Boxler, as its grapes are usually characterized by noteworthy acidity and freshness levels; in warm 2015, he found it was necessary to help the wines made with the grapes from the plots in the Kirchthal and Steinglitz, and he did not want to risk making a slightly flat wine. There is no doubt that the finished wine’s balance is much better with the added Kirchberg component . (At 370 meters above sea level and with an eastern exposure, plus porous soil made of decomposed granite that allows water to percolate downward, the Kirchberg rarely if ever suffers from water stress.) (Drink between 2023-2031)
