Arnaud Mortet Description
By Jasper Morris
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy, 2019 Côte de Nuits Report (11/1/2020)
(Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru, Arnaud Mortet, Red) Rich full purple, with an explosive nose, starts like a Charmes, with a huge wealth of dark raspberry fruit, then builds some tannins behind in a way that is more characteristic of Mazoyères. Clearly a different character by the time it finishes. 93-96 points
Burghound: 91-94 Points
Burghound, Jan-21, Issue #81 (1/21/2021)
(Arnaud Mortet Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru Red) This is also ripe and pretty with its more layered nose of perfumed essence of various red berries laced with hints of earth, anise and a whiff of humus. The spicy and nicely voluminous full-bodied and surprisingly elegant flavors pack good punch on the youthfully austere finish that is shaped by relatively fine-grained tannins as well as bright acidity. This firm effort is quite promising but unlike the La Perrière, it will need at least a decade before it will be sufficiently civilized to be enjoyable. (Drink starting 2034) 91-94 points
