(Savigny-lès-Beaune Grands Picotins, Domaine Pierre Guillemot, Red) Bright fresh purple. The nose is a little tighter here and there is a lovely peppery finish behind the deep raspberry. Less sucrosity, a tannin or two, and a more structured finish. A welcome little touch of acidity and some cherry notes to finish.  88-90 points

Aromas of cherries, blackberries and orange, complemented by accents of cinnamon and cloves, preface the 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune Grands Picotins, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping wine that's lively and succulent. This cuvée can sometimes be a touch more structured than the Vieilles Vignes bottling out of the gates, but that tendency is effaced by the prodigious charm of the 2019 vintage.
