"(Maison Joseph Drouhin Volnay Villages Red) Ripe yet appealingly fresh aromas include those of violet, black raspberry coulis and discreet spice wisps. There is excellent vibrancy to the delicious, unusually dense and palate coating flavors that flash a touch of rusticity on the mildly warm but impressively and complex finale. This is not an especially elegant example of the commune but there is much to like plus the structure is such that it should reward up to a decade of keeping. (Drink starting 2027)  89-91 points"
