"The 2018 Syrah Cabernet / King Coal Stoneridge Vineyard is another beautifully layered, complex wine from the team at K Vintners, based on 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Syrah. It offers lots of classic Cabernet tobacco, cedary herbs, and graphite notes, with the Syrah offering a more plush, sexy, seamless style to the wine. Loaded with red and black fruits, toasted spice, and chocolate, full-bodied, concentrated, yet seamless and incredibly pure, this gorgeously layered blend has enough tannins to warrant short-term cellaring yet is going to evolve gracefully for 15-20 years in cold cellars. It's a gorgeous wine. (Drink between 2021-2036)" 98 points

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon - Syrah King Coal is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and the remainder Syrah from the Stoneridge vineyard. The wine opens with scents of thyme-crusted roast lamb, black tea and blackberry cordial and suggestions of freshly tilled soil. The palate is very elegant and well-balanced, with a seamless texture and glorious length. Medium-bodied, dark fruit flavors collide with suggestions of bull’s blood, sagebrush and hints of kumquat. Wait for the exceedingly long finish. (Drink between 2021-2035)
