The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon - Syrah King Coal is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and the remainder Syrah from the Stoneridge vineyard. The wine opens with scents of thyme-crusted roast lamb, black tea and blackberry cordial and suggestions of freshly tilled soil. The palate is very elegant and well-balanced, with a seamless texture and glorious length. Medium-bodied, dark fruit flavors collide with suggestions of bull’s blood, sagebrush and hints of kumquat.
