"Black cherries mix with dusty rose, ash, and a hint of orange oil as the 2020 Aglianico del Vulture Macarico comes to life slowly in the glass. This is elegance personified, silky and deep, with masses of blackberry fruit nicely contrasted by savory herbal tones as inner violet florals form toward the close. The Macarico tapers off long and refined with fine tannins that frame the experience without slowing its momentum as notes of black currant and minerals fade. The 2020 is already a darling, with plenty of medium-term cellaring potential."
