"More dense and concentrated, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Northern Gale (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) offers a medium to full-bodied, round, supple style as well as a sweet notes of darker currants, blackberries, coffee, and earthy, herbal nuances. It’s balanced and has terrific purity of fruit as well as a great finish. It’s beautifully done and ideal for drinking over the coming decade."

"Despite using less new oak than its pricier sibling, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Northern Gale (only 36% new, with the balance being second-use barrels), is still marked by cedar on the nose, adding that welcome complexity to the bold cassis notes from its Calistoga-sourced fruit. Full-bodied, rich and velvety, with ample concentration and length, it does seem just a little open-knit and should probably be consumed over the next five to eight years."
