"The Merlin family are almost entirely domaine-focused these days, which may explain why the wines are on an upward curve. Marrying fruit from mostly Vergisson with Fuissé and Chaintré, this is a stylishly wooded cuvée with flavours of stone fruit and grapefruit, chalky acidity and a long and satisfying finish. Appealingly fresh and saline."

"This bottling used to be from purchased grapes but now the younger Merlins have taken over the same vines. The current blend is about 60% from Vergisson, 30% Chaintré and 10% Fuissé, and all old vines. Clear and bright lemon, a fresh nose, a little bit of chiselled white fruit, a hillside Pouilly-Fuissé for the most part. Pure fruit, white apple, less muscat and good oak finish. Very attractive graceful finish."
